
Ernesto Echeverri
is a consultant with HMC
specializing in Holistic
Manufacturing. His background
includes a broad range of experience in management, marketing and strategy
in Latin America and Europe.
Ernesto has been an integral part of Holistic
Manufacturing project teams in Poland, Germany, Russia and Italy. He has led and participated in teams that worked to re-structure manufacturing and production processes, resulting in 10% productivity improvement and 30% reduction in waste. For BAT Germany and Russia, he led teams that aligned production planning and scheduling and led the implementation of Kanbans for Wrapping Materials and finished Filter Rods, resulting in a 50% decrease in production-plan changes, reduced downtime and reduced inventory levels. And for BAT Poland, Ernesto prepared a financial model for Trade Marketing to estimate the impact of limited product availability (out-of-stocks) on the company’s bottom line. He also led an analysis of the Brand Change process, resulting in improved procedures and implementation of Kanbans for Wrapping Materials.
Prior to joining HMC,
Ernesto worked for Kimberly-Clark Corporation, initially as an Intern,
completing a sourcing optimization project for institutional products
in Central America, and then as an International Associate, designing
and implementing Wipers marketing programs in North America. He later
became the Workplace Group Manager, Latin America for Colombiana Kimberly
Colpapel, based in Colombia. He was responsible for developing and executing
market and product strategies for the WypAll Wipers category in 7 new countries throughout the region.
As a Business Analyst for Arthur D. Little in Bogotá,
Colombia, Ernesto worked on a variety of projects for clients in Colombia,
Venezuela, and Spain. Major achievements include: Developed a performance
measurement system to implement the Corporate Strategy for the largest
private utility in Venezuela, including metrics for 1,200 employees;
Prepared the Internet content and Marketing Strategy chapters for the
winning business plan in a bidding process to obtain a Digital Radio
license in Spain; Participated in a project to improve the productivity
and reduce the waste at a bottling plant owned by a global beverages
competitor; Established a diversification strategy for the largest private
utility in Venezuela, in order to prioritize investments in excess of
U$S1 billion for a five-year period.
Ernesto also worked as a Junior Engineering Consultant
for a US-based Independent Power Producer, conducting business development
activities for the acquisition and construction of private power projects
in Latin America.
Ernesto received his MBA from the Goizueta Business
School at Emory University and holds a BS in Industrial Engineering
from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. He is
native in Spanish and fluent in English. Ernesto is currently based
in Colombia.
