
Gabriel A. Sussman
is a consultant with HMC
working in the areas of Holistic
Manufacturing, operations improvement, strategy, human resources
and training. Gabriel has successfully implemented new technical and
operational systems in manufacturing environments working with cross-functional
teams in North and South America, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.
Major clients include British American Tobacco (BAT)
at manufacturing facilities in Malaysia, Venezuela, Bangladesh, Chile,
Argentina, Mexico, USA and Trinidad & Tobago; Lincoln Foodservice
Products, USA; and Pepsi Corporation, Venezuela.
Some notable achievements in the projects that Gabriel
has managed include: an 80% increase in production in the Cigarette
Manufacturing Department for British American Tobacco, Malaysia; a 50%
increase in productivity in the Bottling Department for Pepsi in Venezuela;
and re-design of the Filters Department of British American Tobacco,
Argentina, improving product quality ratings by 90%.
Prior to joining HMC,
Gabriel worked as a Business Consultant for Arthur D. Little Latin America
S.A. Management Consulting (ADL) as part of the Consumer Goods practice
in the areas of Strategy, Operations Management and Sales & Marketing.
He led the Operations Management practice in Argentina, and is a two-time
recipient of ADL's Star Case Award, given for outstanding quality performance
on casework. Gabriel coordinated the 4-member ADL Argentina marketing
committee, developing company-wide marketing policies. Principal projects
include: defining a business strategy for Agrocom, a leading logistics
and distribution company in Argentina, redefined organizational structure
and redesigning the administrative, logistics and commercial processes
to support this strategy; operations improvement process design and
implementation at Bass Breweries, Birmingham, England; implementation
of Minimalist Manufacturing methodology at Nobleza-Piccardo, Argentina;
redesign and implementation of new information systems for Brown &
Williamson in Georgia, USA; aligned organizational structure to fit
the new strategy defined for BAT Argentina, and redesigned key business
processes accordingly.
Gabriel received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and his BA in Business Administration
with a minor in Economics from the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in
Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is native
in Spanish and fluent in English and Portuguese, with a working knowledge
of French and Italian. Gabriel is currently based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
